The Variav Charitable Dispensary (VCD)
- Variav Charitable Dispensary (VCD) Established in 2006, the Variav Charitable Dispensary (VCD) stands as a testament to collective goodwill and enduring service. Operated jointly by the Sarvajanik Medical Trust, Surat and the Variav Sunnee Vohra Khidmat Committee, United Kingdom (VSVKCUK), the dispensary continues to provide essential healthcare services to the local community of Variav, Surat (Gujarat, India)—with compassion, dignity, and accessibility at its core.
- The initiative is made possible through the generous contributions of both Variav and Non-Variav Muslim donors, inspired by the Islamic values of care, service, and equity.
- A cornerstone of this effort was the late Mr. Mohammed Ghanti of Variav, who resided in the United Kingdom. His philanthropic legacy lives on through the spacious building he constructed and unconditionally donated—hereinafter referred to as “The Building”—to the Sarvajanik Medical Trust, Surat, without seeking any compensation or recognition. His selfless act continues to benefit countless individuals and remains a guiding light in the spirit of service.
- The dedicated management of the Sarvajanik Medical Trust, VCD remains committed to uplifting lives, one patient at a time. “Together, we nurture health, dignity, and hope—one patient at a time.”
